Christian Music Does Matter

With the new channel lineup for 2007, Sirius has removed Sirius Revolution (channel 67) which played non-stop Christian Rock music. The channel's format was something that can not be found via any other means in a vehicle. About a year before this, XM had removed their Christian Rock stations (known as The Torch) and many fans of Christian Rock had switched to the Sirius network -- something that was costly because new equipment would be needed for this conversion.

It may be true that the listener base of Revolution was small in comparison to the other stations, however, Sirius is missing something very important: There is no other option for listening to new Christian rock music in your car. There are actually very few markets that have ANY Christian music stations -- let alone ones that play Christian Rock rather than only light CCM. As a result, the listener base of Sirius Revolution consisted of a large amount of subscribers who payed the monthly fee for a single station. With removing that station, they have lost and will continue to lose subscribers because the value of Sirius has been drastically reduced as a result of the loss of this station.

Unless people tell Sirius that they are upset with this decission and Sirius is shown the impact that one station can make, there will be no reason for them to bring Revolution back on the air. Please sign the petition below so that we can tell Sirius that Christian music DOES matter.
